Jukjeon Park Fixie Session Seoul Korea
Author: One Eye Goat Posted: 2010-09-04
We finally got break in the weather here in Seoul so I headed straight for the nearest skateboard park, Jukjeon. I brought the girls with me and we had a solid session. Riding a fixed gear bike on ramps is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but as expected it's super fun too.

Bike (ride) Fight! (Seoul Korea vs. Shekou China)
Author: Dustin Posted: 2010-08-25
I was inspired by the photos Mark posted of his new ride to work in Seoul Korea... they seem like pretty regular photos to most.. but when compared to my super hectic (and sometimes life-threatening) ride to work through chinese city streets, I thought his ride looked so serene and calm in comparison... So here's the photo "fight": Seoul vs. Shenzhen Enjoy... (p.s. create a free membership and you can post articles too.. We'd love to see photos and text about your bike rides!)
Seoul Bike Path vs. Shenzhen City Streets
Korean Gazebo vs. Shenzhen demolition/construction along the street
Serene river along path.. vs. Sweeping up yesterday's trash on the street

Open recreation area vs. Abundance of chinese street food.. One WIN for me!

Riding on Seoul's Bike Paths
Author: OneEyeGoat Posted: 2010-08-22
This morning i went for my first bike ride along one of the rivers. The paths was nice but a bit narrow. There are many different things to do such as basketball, workout equipment, and kiddy pools to name a few. There is a red and a green path running parallel to each other. I believe the red one is for bikes and walking, while the green one is for running. There are really nice public bathrooms and cool Korean gazebos all along the path. Also, there was a lot of wildlife and the stream or river didn't stink like sewage, which is always a benefit.

Biking in Eugene Oregon
Author: One Eye Goat Posted: 2010-06-26
I've been back in Eugene for a few days now, and have noticed a few things about the biking community here in Eugene, Oregon. One of the cool things I've noticed is the amount of people utilizing the bus transit system in conjunction with biking. Almost every bus that goes by has at least one bike on the front rack. Also, all the major bus depots have bike lockers to help multi-modal commuters. Everywhere here in Eugene there are people biking, biking with trailers, or with kids in tow. I guess it helps that the weather right now is absolutely perfect.

Oceanside Biking in Narragansett, RI! Aww yeah, this feels like summer.
Author: Dustin Posted: 2010-06-21
I'm back in the US, Rhode Island to be specific... Narragansett to be very specific.. and I'm having a great time enjoying the summer weather. Speaking of weather, although I dislike New England weather for part of the year (well, pretty much the whole 6 months of winter and his friends), but I love the summer here! It is sunny and warm, but missing the oppressive heat and humidity I've learned to accept living in southern China. Speaking of here vs. China: it's especially nice to see the clear blue and white of the sky and clouds that are so often lost in China's various shades of... we'll call it "man-made fog", because that sounds so much nicer than air pollution. Anyways, I digress... So today my parents and I decided to take in the fine weather by renting bicycles and riding around Narragansett (which is essentially a peninsula). We went to Narragansett Bikes (NBX) and they took care of us nicely. Click here to read my article about NBX. Coming back to the states after being in a place like China where people are generally smaller-framed, it is hard to not be blown over by how many out-of-shape and unfit people there are here. It's scary because it's something we've known about for some time, and yet the problem seems to be getting much worse and in short time! So it's nice to see at least some people out biking and participating in other physical activities to do their part to fight against this epidemic. Anyways, give me a second to step down off my soapbox... ok, there. We rode along Ocean Road (Route 1A) which, as the name suggests, runs right along the ocean. The views along the way included huge beach-front homes owned by Rhode Island's richest old families, Narragansett town beach, Scarborough state beach, and of course some scantly clad beach-goers (this is a college town after all). With all of the great food around here too (Brickley's homemade ice cream shop in particular, which was hosted our post-ride snack), it was a great feeling to breath in some fresh air, soak in some sun rays, and burn off some of those oh so tasty calories I've been enjoying on my trip.
