Master Lock has been around for a very long time. Heck we've all probably used one of their locks for something at some point in time in our lives, be it a school locker or door lock. They recently sent us what has got to be the coolest bike lock I've every seen, period! It's their new Street Cuff lock. They look and work similar to handcuffs. They are heavy and appear to be well built.

Masterlock is so confident in their Street Cuff lock that they offer a $3,500 anti-theft guarantee, which only the best bike lock companies dare to do. The cuffs themselves are 3" in diameter and 12" long making them pretty much one of the smallest transportable bike locks on the market, yet long enough in reach for most situations.

The construction of the lock itself is laminated hardened steel, and the pivot link will deter leveraged attacks from items such as a crowbar. One nice aspect is the rubberized protective sleeve around the cuff to protect the bikes finish. Also it dampens any rattling sounds while transporting. The model I recieved only came with one pivoting link, but you can purchase one with 9 links as well. The street Cuff from what I understand has gone through a few revisions in the past few years so the design is pretty solid.

My only suggestion after using it for awhile would be to make it lighter without giving up on the strength of the lock. With today's technology I don't believe that will be possible, and the weight factor is not enough to make me stop using it. It's an easy lock to use and super convenient to lock and unlock a bike with. Overall, it's a worthy buy and will provide you with a piece of mind. It is now my primary lock and I'm planning on getting another one for my daughter's bike.
